the earlier i start the better... however today i got a late start and of course now i am prolonging the inevitable by stopping to write nothing much on this blog...

these days aren't too bad. it always reminds me of when i was a stay at home mom mostly full time. it's nice... and i am thankful for all the things i have to keep clean and the lovely people who mess them up. i'm a lucky girl! i say girl cause that's what i feel like on the inside. now i know what old ladies mean when they say things like "i don't know how it happened" and "i still feel the same as i did then"

What makes us not want to connect with people???

Maybe you don't have this problem... If you don't count yourself lucky because it doesn't come so easy for some of us.

It's not that I believe we are supposed to have this deep connection with everybody. But I do believe that God places people in our lives to connect deeply with for one reason or another.

Sometimes I have this picture in my mind like... remember growing up and there was that one man in your life that would hold your head as you tried to reach for them to playfully knock them around a bit??? I feel like that! I'm standing there holding my arm out palm flat on peoples forehead letting them flail about while sizing them up. Even though my mind is say JUST PUT YOUR ARM DOWN.... my brain is flashing a red stop you've come far enough light screaming caution caution CAUTION.

Hmmmm something to pray about...

Lord help me to just put my arm down and trust you...amen

If I'm Honest...

If I’m honest I feel required to go deeper than I want to go. As the waves of life pound against my over thinking brain I have no desire to go where they want to take me… I’m not sure why really or if it’s even true. Maybe I do want to go and I’m lying to myself at this very moment.

My life feels full of stops and starts things left undone never quite completing much of anything. I look at where I’ve been and where I wish I was and I get stuck somehow in between.

It’s a frustrating…

It leaves me feeling like I just can’t get the job done… yes, yes, yes I know these are LIES FROM THE PIT OF HELL (said very dramatically)!

Just another storm before the calm I guess fighting the good fight and all.

I heard a fantastic concept of the New Year this morning during our devotion time at work. In regards to the New Year comparing 2011 and 2012 to old and new wine skins and how it is time to cast of the old wine skins start over in our new wine skins be prepared to stretch and grow all over again in new ways in the new year. It sounds lovely and painful.

I'm sad!! I'm sad Grrrr! I'm sad sigh...

my heart is mopey

This is worse than turning 30... worse than turning 40! Way worse than kindergarten and the first BOY! Worse than when she wore her friends make-up to take her 6th grade pictures and looked like a mini working girl... Worse than hiding her lunches under her bed for at least a week and lied to me for the first time (about something that mattered). Worse than the day I smashed her itouch to pieces with a hammer, don't ask...sniffle a senoir

I know I'm lucky, I know she's such a good girl... I do cherish her and enjoy her

but for some reason my heart is aching.

It all started with this song. I found it about a month ago... I started imagining a slide show of her life from the beginning to present for her graduation party it is absolutely perfect!!!!

Oh I'm going to do it to and cry like a baby through every step and thank God for my beautiful gift, this amazing girl and all she brings me... Thank You sooo much!!!

Okay...I need to hear your thoughts on this one!!!!! Cheerio will be a Senior starting tomorrow!!!! For the last 12 years I have woken the little princess up for school... Yesterday I informed her that she would be setting her own alarm and getting her self up this year... Whoa you would have thought I told her she was going to have to get a perm on pink rods before school started!!!! She is reeling from the news... "big daddy" told her "it's time to get off the breast and stand on her own two feet" she didn't see the humor... "practical mama" is saying hey you're going to be in college after this year and your going to have to start doing this on your own... but the "mama omgosh my baby girl is going to be a senior" is sayin... is it really that big of a deal??? What do you think? Alarm or no alarm what would you do????

sometimes Gods peace seems so hard to grasp on to. The concept seems difficult and distant. Other times it seems ridiculously simple and I wonder why I don't take advantage of it more often. I believe God's peace is freely given but not with out action or guide lines to follow... for instance we can not and will not have God's peace when we are living life according to our own desires and purposes. If we are doing things OUR way then peace? Not so much. Remember what it says in the bible... His ways are NOT our ways ( Isaiah 55:8-9). The first clue... if I'm doing it my way then true ever lasting peace is not going to happen. My hope for peace is following God's ways know matter how nonsensical, know matter what society is telling me, know matter what my human mind is saying, in fact just remembering the scripture His ways are NOT my ways is bringing me peace.

I've had two glorious weeks off this month and have enjoyed every single minute! It's been full of happy memories with family, my favorite thing, laughter, tired feet, oh and sleeeeep beautiful wonderful sleep. Of course all good things must come to an end as they say :)

Honestly, I like my job lots and I've missed the scooby gang... no job is perfect and I definitely have THOSE days, but I chalk that up as normal and consider myself completely blessed to be surrounded by such great, normal (well maybe not quite normal???), not afraid to be themselves people.

So vacation I'll miss you but the show must go on!!!!!!

okay so I"m supposed to be weighing in on Tuesdays but haven't been. I got up today with a new determination and decided I would bite the bullet! I weighed in and have gained 2 lbs!!! I must say I'm not surprised. I haven't been sticking to the weight watchers plan at all... I stopped tracking my points and drinking water and blah blah blah.

So today I am picking up my boot straps on the boot that I can't wear because they give my legs muffin top, putting my head down and pressing forward!

Here's to not giving up! You can do it old gal you can do it!

yes I'm feeling better today... I think it helps when eyes roll like bowling balls and looks that could kill get hurled at me!

we are getting away as a family for the next few days and that helps too :) it was between vegas and the happiest place on earth and we decided on the second. we will be members of the passport community again and i cant wait!!!! We LOVE disneyland in every season and I'm so glad we will be able to go when ever we want!!! Fall/Halloween's my favorite but I love Christmas too!!! I am sooo happy!!!

I can't believe it is starting to happen already!!! I have entered the doldrums of "oh my gosh my baby is going to be a senior this year". My throat is tight, it's hard to swallow even as we speak... sigh I'm not sure where this will go and how deep it will run but I have a feeling you will be hearing about it. What do I need to teach? Have you ever heard of "chub rub"??? If you haven't heard of it I'm sure my more voluptuous readers have had it. It's that god awful thing that happens between your thighs when you neglect to place some kind of fabric between them in the hot dank heat of summer... preferably not nylon it's been known to start fires!!! I LOVE the name "chub rub" I follow a blog called "pearmama's world" that I love, love, love and this is where I first laughed my booty off concerning this name on this topic!! Read it I guaranty you will laugh too!!

So anywho just wanted to give a shout out to my short pants!!! As I sat in the blistering heat this weekend at yet another baseball tournament, that we were undefeated in and took the championship for, I thought back to the days of chub rub and looked down at my shorts and thought... thank you shorts your the bomb diggidy! I finally found it!! Happiness in my heart for my short pants... sigh

I'm just posting this now because I was giving this away as a gift on Saturday and didn't want to spoil the surprise!!!

This is a quilt I was inspired to make by one that was made for me a few years ago. I sat, let inspiration take over and this is what I ended up with.

I've been saving old jeans that the kids have grown out of and unfortunately ones I've grown out of too, put them together and this is what came of them. There is a fleece backing. My uncle loves the Raiders so there you have it. I embroidered my uncle's name with a heart of love in a fun warm font. The quilt comes alive the more you wash it as the fray continues to grow... I wanted it to look as manly as possible.

Colton decided he wanted a faux hawk!! We have been trying to get Colton to cut his locks for quite some time... well his dad has. Its been coming off slowly. The last hair cut request was Justin B. I have had an interesting battle with forgiveness over the last couple of years... giving and receiving! To be honest I am still healing and sometimes wonder if the wound will ever go completely. I don't think so I think I will always walk with a limp and a few battle scars. I gained some perspective through these chapters. I'm thankful that God is shaping me still even through the pages of this book.

My sister Erin her oldest daughter Stacy along with stacy's baby Brielle who just turned 1yr and my sister Erin's two youngest Sarah who is Cheerio's age and Casey who is little man's age are coming in to town tomorrow morning!!! Needless to say there is excited anticipation in the Parson house this evening!!! I so love when family comes to town... My peeps! we share history, we laugh loud with heads hung back lungs full and mouth wide. Share food off forks and don't write our names on cups. We hug, kiss, cry. We make fun, roll our eyes and read each others thoughts ... sigh I can't wait!!!!!! I'll try to take lots of pics to post...

You wouldn't know it by looking at my backyard (or my frontyard for all that matters) but I LOVE to garden vegetables, flowers what ever... through the years my passion has stayed the same however getting the job done is an entirely different story! I tiptoe through the tulips time and time a gain as a dream of what will be... browsing through images of my favorite landscapes on the www. But alas I look out to my back yard and all my hopes and dreams come crashing down like a bat out of hades! It doesn't help that it's as hot as hades either!!

Yesterday I set out on my purposeful steps to be me journey. Through sneezing until I almost peed my pants, because some how the grass in our backyard has become haystacks. Sweating like a pig, even though pigs don't sweat! I have begun to make some head way. Yep tumble weeds are gone and things are lookn up!

I think I stole 2 books tonight....

I had a fabulous night tonight!! I spent it doing one of my favorite things! Pouring over the written word... My friend Josie invited me to a book club meeting at a quaint little children's book store called "Petunia's Place" wrapping up a book that I love called "The Firefly Letters" by Margarita Engle... get it you'll love it! Not only is it one of my favorite books but Margarita Engle her self was going to be there!!! My friend Josie lead the discussion of the book and of course with her own eloquent flare for words did an amazing job... I was the tiniest bit late and snuck in with an apologetic look to my friend for making her look bad then sat down and lost my self in the poetic language of Margarita as she explained where her inspiration came.

At the end of the time the obvious leader of this shin dig brought out the next 2 book club reads and directed everyone to a sheet of paper to sign and take the next books home as their very own. I spoke with a few people at the meeting and started to realize most of the people were educators of one sort or another... keeping an eye on the line at the sheet of paper and watching each person take their books I thought hmmm I wonder how this thing works?? I approached the leader of the pack and asked her " so can you tell me how this works this is my first time" She said "are you going to come back we would love to have you" and I said "I would love to". She says " well then sign the sheet and take the books it's supported by CRLP" so I did thinking I wonder what CRLP is!!!

The California Reading and Literature Project... For TEACHERS oops I asked my friend " hey was I supposed to take these!!!" She said are you ganna come back I said ya she says then ya take um... I don't know I think I stole them and I think I'll have to clear my conscience on my next trip to "Petunia's".

Some days I look at my life and I'm not necessarily dissatisfied... just wondering when I'll get there... you know the person I thought I'd be. Oh the dreaded word "change"....

We are going through a season of change. Honestly as Christ followers we should be changing continuously right? Of course that being said change is not always bad however it is change.

A few months ago my job changed. Our Worship Pastor at church resigned to go into a different kind of full time ministry a very exciting change for her and her hubby. They moved away to Texas. How does that change my life? Well I was her Administrative Assistant. I have now been asked to team up with a another person in the Worship Department and run the Worship Department hand in hand with him and the Pastoral Staff. Title now: Worship Department Administrator wooo that is a mouth full. I got my own office with my name on the door, well on the wall next to the door, and everything. Cheerio decided not to be a cheerio anymore. Going into her Senior year has helped her decide that she would like to spend all of her time enjoying every drop of school and friends, which I can't say that I blame her there. Also, being presented from mom or dad with the choice of cheer or a new car probably helped too.

Little Man wanted his hair cut like Justin Bieber (however you spell it) getting all ready for the 7th grade. Right when I was done cutting it. Before he even looked at it! He turned to me and said... Do I look older??? Ugh.... and the answer was YES sob you do...

Sigh... Oh change

I'm very excited about my next book! It is called "The Fitting Room" Putting on the Character of Christ... bye Kelly Minter.

I will be starting it the first week of June and posting my first thoughts on Monday June 6.

Remember the link that Rene shared with us for the book club "Bloom (in) Courage" when we were reading "One Thousand Gifts"? They are going through this book as well. I love their blog videos!!! Monday Prayer...

Today as a ponder yesterdays worship time during church and thinking about the words that God spoke over our church body.

The name of Jesus covers all. Anything that you are going through in life Jesus covers it all and is enough. Come drink the fresh water from the river that does not run dry.

As I think of the many names that define who God is and can be for us I believe it is something we can all be reminded of.

My prayer for you today is that God will reveal himself as the God that you are in need of today. For what ever you are going through right now at this moment. Weather it is perfect peace or one of life's storms that you will call on His name and know he has/will answer.

Just to name a few:

EL SHADDAI: God Almighty or "God All Sufficient."
JEHOVAH-JIREH: "The Lord will Provide."

JEHOVAH-ROPHE: "The Lord Who Heals"
JEHOVAH-NISSI: "The Lord Our Banner."
JEHOVAH-M'KADDESH: "The Lord Who Sanctifies" "
JEHOVAH-SHALOM: "The Lord Our Peace"
