Swimsuit shopping with Big Daddy...

Well today Cheerio came bouncing into my room, carrying the lap top excited to share her latest find. The "perfect" swimsuit at one of her favorite stores...Hollister. Big Daddy next to me on the bed who had been talking away just moments earlier seemed to have lost all desire to speak as he stared up at the ceiling...(mom) well honey it is very cute...look daddy Cheerio found a swimsuit she likes...(dad) glance...uhu looks nice...silence...looks back up to the ceiling(Cheerio)looking at mom and dad with excited anticipation...(mom)still looking at dad...(dad)still looking at the ceiling... he speaks...well I guess I don't mind driving you to Hollister so we can take a look...(Cheerio) REALLY ok I'll get ready...

The whole family heads to Hollister...Cheerio, Mom, Dad, and Little man...who is thrilled to be going swimsuit shopping for his big sis!! To my surprise we get in the mall and big daddy says you two go on we will meet you at Hollister, I guess he decided to drowned his sorrows in Sees candy...so we headed off to the HOL to the LIS to the STER. although they did not have the "perfect" suit Cheerio was hoping for she managed to find two she really liked. I got her into the fitting room and thought wow this might be the easiest swimsuit shopping trip ever...as Cheerio opened the door to show me her first suit Big Daddy came lurking behind me. I turned and smiled. with a straight face he says you go look first...I smiled and said ok...as I approached the door of her dressing room and opened it I kept my face as straight as possible smiled and said "honey you look adorable" but as I turned my head to look at big daddy all I could think was I so wish there was a way I could take a picture of his face when he sees this!!!!!!! As I turned and walked towards him I gave him "the look" and said ok daddy go ahead and take a look...as I turned to watch him...I actually felt sorry for him...I thought he was going to fall to the floor lay on his stomach kicking and screaming and yell NO NO NO!!! He turned and looked at me like ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!! All I could think was HOLD IT TOGETHER MAN WE HAVE ONE MORE TO GO...he came over to me in silence just staring at me and I whispered Honey she's a girl she's got B--Bs...he sighed and said I don't need to see the next one they are all going to look the same to me...Poor Big Daddy...

Well Cheerio Got her swimsuit and Big Daddy...well I don't thing Big Daddy will be shopping with us next year...his heart can't take it...

The Delight of Sacrifice...Ugh

My reading today really struck me...well...right between the eyes!! The title of my post was actually the title of my reading without the Ugh of course...It comes from 2 Corinthians 12:15 (chapter 12 Verse 15). which reads "I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls..."the focus of the reading was this: Paul spent his whole life for only one purpose...that he might win people to Jesus Christ. It goes on to state the truth that Paul always attracted people to his Lord, but never to himself...it has left me asking my self two questions: Do I willingly and deliberately lay down my interests for Christ and His interest in other people and do I truly consider it a delight to sacrifice or to lay down my life for my friend, Jesus as He has laid His life down for me. It also makes me think of John 15:13 in a whole new way. It reads: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends". I've always taken this very literal and now I'm think'n it can mean lay down all of my desires, my life, my convenience, for my friends to allow God to use me in what ever way He sees fit to play my part in helping them become who Christ has created them to be and in turn me myself becoming who God created me to be???
