I'm very excited about my next book! It is called "The Fitting Room" Putting on the Character of Christ... bye Kelly Minter.

I will be starting it the first week of June and posting my first thoughts on Monday June 6.

Remember the link that Rene shared with us for the book club "Bloom (in) Courage" when we were reading "One Thousand Gifts"?  They are going through this book as well. I love their blog videos!!! Such an enhancement to the book! I will add their videos with each blog post so you can enjoy going through it with them as well.

Really looking forward to this one! Hope you're able to join me :)

Monday Prayer...

Today as a ponder yesterdays worship time during church and thinking about the words that God spoke over our church body.

The name of Jesus covers all. Anything that you are going through in life Jesus covers it all and is enough. Come drink the fresh water from the  river that does not run dry.

As I think of the many names that define who God is and can be for us I believe it is something we can all be reminded of.

My prayer for you today is that God will reveal himself as the God that you are in need of today. For what ever you are going through right now at this moment. Weather it is perfect peace or one of life's storms that you will call on His name and know he has/will answer.

Just to name a few:

EL SHADDAI: God Almighty or "God All Sufficient."
JEHOVAH-JIREH: "The Lord will Provide."

JEHOVAH-ROPHE: "The Lord Who Heals"
JEHOVAH-NISSI: "The Lord Our Banner."
JEHOVAH-M'KADDESH: "The Lord Who Sanctifies" "
JEHOVAH-SHALOM: "The Lord Our Peace"

The Book I'm Reading...

I just tore my self away from this book ending chapter 6... I hate cleaning day :) I must get to it but I will get back to this wonderful book as soon as possible.

"Every Last Cuckoo" is not a disappointment.

I love the way Kate Maloy has started this book. The introduction of characters told through the memory of Sarah as her husband is lying injured in the freezing snow and cold. There faithful canine by their side help on the way. I am enjoying the perspective of a healthy loving marriage with normal family struggle. Loving each other in spite of it all and working through it.

The Vermont setting is nice. The dreamy farm house with trees and nature as far as the eye can see. I can kind of see it. Imagine it in my head. I have been to Vermont many years ago and I can picture the environment that the story is told.

As Sarah reminisces about the depression I try to imagine my self there. I wonder what my family would have been like. Would we have been like Sarah's family? Opening our door to any family member that needed shelter, a place to call home? How would we have walked out such a life?

So far a pleasurable read!!!

held captive...

My thoughts are held captive.

Jesus died on the cross to eradicate the space in between me and Him. Ripping it away aggressively, passionately, violently. God desires me, longs for me, pursues me. It make me think of this scripture… When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Psalm 8:3-4 (niv)

As of late I think of this daily. My thoughts are truly held captive. No space between us. God has shown me that I am the only one who can create the space between us. That any time there is distance it is self induced. I am forcing the separation.

What is it? Do you have space between you and our loving savior? What is it? Ask God to show you. Draw near to Him, press in, feel His presence, listen.

Thank you Jesus for the hideous death you suffered to take every bit of space between us away, for loving me that much. I pray God that you show me what I allow to creep in and steal you away from me. I pray that we cling so deeply that I will know when it is threatened.
I love you so very much. In Jesus name I pray…amen

The Book I'm Reading...

I have absolutely enjoyed the book “One Thousand Gifts” it has motivated me and truly changed my life.

I’m sorry I was so terrible at going through it with all of you. It became an incredible journey for me that left me searching with in so much of the time it was hard to get it out on paper or in a post. It still is actually...

I hope I have at least inspired you to read this book as I was inspired to read it by my anonymous gift giver.
Thank you so much…

If you have any final thoughts to express on this book I would love to hear them…
