Tell our stories...

Lesson # 2
This came to me in a sort of ripple affect of current events...one being the book about Rehab Unashamed that I just finished...there is a part in the book the night before the Israelites were going into battle...that the elders called the children around and told them their stories about God and all he had done to get them to the place they found them selves...my thought when I read this was...we have got to remember to tell our stories to the generations...the stories of Christ's faithfulness in our own lives...but when I was further studying the bible the thought came to me...do my children know our stories from this book? The stories past down from generations the legacies of Christ and his people left to teach us who God is...was...and always will be...Hmmmmm...so I decided to talk to my son first and I asked him...Colton...do you know the story of Daniel in the lions den? No...how about David and Goliath?Kind of...ummm what about Peter James and John in the sail boat? There nets were filled with fish...what about passover?...nope...my heart sank and I realized I have failed to teach my child the stories that matter most...I moved on to Brittani and she new more than her brother...which her wonderful Elementary Sunday school teacher Linda deserves all acclaim...thank you Linda...I told them how sorry I was that they didn't learn these truths about our savior yet and that the reason why these stories are sooo important is because it teaches us who God is...how he handles things...I gave them the desert example about the Israelites wondering for all those years because they didn't obey God...but that God never left them...He provided for them all that they needed and gave them chance after chance to get it...and how that teaches us even though we make mistakes God will never leave us He will have grace and mercy on us and give us chances to do better next time...also that there are consequences for the decisions we make good and bad...you know what...they both got it...and couldn't wait to get started...Soooo we started at the beginning and we wont stop until we reach the end...

Thank you God for showing me what I need to work on and giving me another chance to get it right...I love you...amen

You ROCK!!!

It's NEVER about me...

1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Lesson # 1 on my new journey:
It's NEVER about me...

How many times is this the source of all of my problems...forgetting that it is NEVER about me...it is ALWAYS about Him...it is so obvious yet I forget this time and time again...in big and small ways...MY time, MY money, MY body, MY ministry, MY rights, MY children, MY marriage...you get the picture...how MY life would be so much easier if I remember this is not MY life at all...
I hear you God and I will move forward from this point remembering what you have shown me...Lesson # 1...this life that You have given me...is NEVER about me...I love you...Amen

Coffee Talk Chit-Chat Unashamed Ch 5-7

Well I just finished the book!!!! YES...YES...YES...we serve a mighty God!!! I love the ending of that story...you can find this story in the book of Joshua in the bible...Read it...what an amazing true reminder of God's incredible faithfulness...God just amazes me how he continuously give us far above what we will ever deserve in our lives...from Rahab the prostitute to Rahab the woman of God...
Rahab and Salmon had a son, Boaz.
Boaz was the father of Obed;
Obed, the father of Jesse;
Jesse the father of King David.
And from the line of King David of the tribe of Judah
came the promised Messiah,
Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.
WOW...go Rahab

The More I Seek You...

This is my anthem...I'm on a new journey...God has set my feet on new ground...I've been called to step away from things that have become distractions...things I have allowed to come between me and all God has called me to...I'm looking forward to pressing in...

Consume me father...purge me of self so all that's left of me is You...Amen

CoffeeTalk chit chat Unashamed Ch 1-4

What a dork I am!!! I just realized I have yet to post ANYTHING about our current book Unashamed!!! Hello...

So I am thoroughly enjoying this book...and I think it's safe to say so are all the ladies in the book club!!! Rahab is quite an amazing woman...I love the faith she had in a God she only heard stories about...I love how God sent Salmon and Mizraim as spy's and revealed the plan before they came back to the tribes...telling us that God will have us do things that may not make sense to us but makes perfect sense to him...that He would take the time to seek after and ultimately save Rahab from the life she had known giving her true life in return...it's a good example of how God will turn anything in our lives for good and for his complete purpose receiving all the glory...from the day Rahab was conceived, given to the king, becoming a prostitute making the best out of a terrible situation...God always knowing she would be in the lineage of Christ is just WOW...
Ending Chapter 4 the Israelites just Crossed the Jordan and the people of Jericho are in sheer panic...but Rahab is in a state of excited anticipation awaiting the arrival of her new life her one and only God has come!!!

Say what you need to say...

What does someone need to hear from you???

One of the pastor blogs I read talked about how this past Sunday he spoke on Proverbs 15:4...The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life. But a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit...His post along with this video has really inspired me as well as challenged me to put into words my feeling and thoughts about the people in my life and just say it...to them of course...it's a great post...definitely food for thought.
